The Basic Unity Principles are the foundation of our Children's
Church and Youth programs. We teach these principles by using the
curriculum created by our Association of Unity Churches, as well
as small group discussion, Bible study and children's stories.
Our teachers are here to guide the children and youth on their
journey of spiritual unfoldment and to help them to recognize their
own Divinity. In the words of Myrtle Fillmore, co-founder of Unity,
"we are here not to entertain the children, but to call them out".
We are happy to share this important information with you so that
you may understand our ministry at Mountaintop Unity's Children's
Church. We know that as we learn and grow in Spirit, our Youth Ministry
is expanding in beautiful ways.
Our children have the opportunity to give their input on what they
want to create in the Children's Church classes. We have already
received several creative class suggestions for plays and art projects.
These ideas allow the kids to express their understanding of God
and the Unity Truth principles. This is a very exciting time in
our Ministry and our children always have the best ideas in starting
something new. What a gift they are!

- God is all good and active in everything, everywhere.
- I am naturally good because God's Divinity is in me and in everyone.
- I create my experiences by what I choose to think and what
I feel and believe.
- Through affirmative prayer and meditation, I connect with God
and bring out the Good in my life.
- I do and give my best by living the Truth I know.

Unity's Living Curriculum philosophy affirms that the curriculum
is not within any guide, but rather lives within the children themselves.
Myrtle Fillmore, co-founder of Unity, was the inspiration for this
foundational belief as she saw each child live the Truth principles
through their own soul's unfoldment. Our curriculum varies for each
age group:
2 years old through Kindergarten
What a Wonderful World is a curriculum that focuses on reinforcing
the basic Unity belief that God is within us, around us, everywhere
present and loves us unconditionally. This is done through artwork,
music, movement and story time.
1st through 5th Grades
Unity's most recent curriculum, Celebrating My God-self,
focuses on issues that actually occur in the lives of elementary
aged children. The curriculum addresses children in two age groups,
6-8 year olds and 9-10 year olds. Each lesson has an intention statement,
pre-session activity, affirmation, meditation, Bible story and discussion
questions. The discussion time allows the children to make connections
with what is happening in the story to their own lives, making the
curriculum meaningful and the wisdom of the Bible relevant to them.
The metaphysical interpretation is also introduced during these
years.
Uniteens - 6th through 8th Grades
The focus with Uniteens is learning to gain a deeper spiritual
and metaphysical understanding of the Bible stories. As students
learn to see beyond the literal interpretation of these stories,
it encourages them to look beyond the appearance of things happening
in their own lives and live from their own Divinity and the Truth
principles.
Youth of Unity (YOU) - 14-18 years
The YOUers use their own understanding of the Truth principles
to discuss and look more deeply into the issues they encounter everyday.
They support one another and learn to live from their own Truth.
YOUers have the opportunity to attend regional and international
Unity rallies and conferences where they meet other like-minded
teenagers and create life-long friendships.

It is important that within any place where children are to grow
and develop they must feel safe and a sense of belonging. To create
such an environment it is important that all children help to create
a sacred space for themselves and others. For this reason, we have
created a Heart Agreement that all the children will read
and sign when they become a part of our Children's Church. The Children's
Heart Agreement is "With all my heart, I agree that:
- I come to class on time and in a cooperative spirit.
- I am respectful to others by listening and giving my attention
while others are speaking. We are all children of God!
- I always walk when I am within the walls of our sacred space,
the Children's Church.
- I AM a wonderful Child of God and my behaviour reflects who
I AM! I will shine my Christ Light for all to see!"
